The mission of Northern Garden of Life is to provide a sustainable selection of healthy foods for people who are interested in making a connection to their food source. We do this through a harmonious blend of hard work, healthy farm management, and good old fashioned technology, flavored with equal parts coffee and true grit, all right here on our own farm. All winter long we plot and plan, reviewing each year's successes and failures so we can continuously improve ways to grow healthy food. All our crops are hand harvested, much in the same way people have been doing for hundreds of years. Did you know we even make our own dirt? Remember, our season is likely to start off with a pop instead of a bang, starting with some basics in July. During August and September, we expect to be at full production, and should start to wind down from there. Who knows what the weather will bring? Northern Garden of Life has been contracted to provide fresh vegetables and other produce to Apostle Highlands Weddings during the harvest season as part of their “local specials” catering options. And, here's a unique option, as long as you have a summer wedding during the harvest, bride and groom can come with members of the wedding party to pick vegetables together at the garden for their reception dinner!
This new partnership will help gain awareness for the Garden’s mission to provide a sustainable, healthy food source while helping those in need, as well as make great connections that can only help us grow.

The Northern Garden of Life staff believes in helping in our own community. We do this by providing a portion of all that is produced on our farm to the Brick Ministries in Ashland, Wisconsin, (our home town) to help feed those that are hungry. 2009 donations were approximately 10,000 lbs of fresh vegetables,, While 2010 donations neared 20,000 lbs. We also are committed to helping people get their lives back on track and do so by offering some work opportunities in our safe, healthy environment, to those who are interested.
