Following is a copy of the description of the program, so you can easily see how you can support the farm. At the bottom of this page is a link to the subscription form. This concept is widely used in towns and cities across America, commonly called CSA programs. These programs make it possible for individuals to purchase "shares" or in our case boxes of produce, all depending on how the season goes. If it's a great season we should have more than expected, if the season is marginal same philosophy applies. We are able to offer subscription refunds up until June 1, 2011. If you wish you can gift subscriptions at your discretion.
2011 Northern Garden of Life Buy a Box Participation Form
Thank you for choosing to be our customer for the 2011 growing season. We are committed to doing our part to help to ensure a season of healthy, bountiful produce for your kitchen table, for as long as weather permits!
By signing up for the Buy a Box program, you understand and agree that:
1) Farming has its share of risks and rewards, and by participating in this program you also share in those risks and rewards. If we have a great season, you will be blessed with more vegetables than you can eat!
2) It is your responsibility to arrange to have someone to pick up your box if you will be unable to do so.
3) It is your responsibility to check your email designated for garden communication, especially before and on delivery days (email is our strongest form of communication).
3) If you do not pick up your box for any particular week, your box will be donated to the local food shelter, The Brick in Ashland, Wisconsin, at the farmer’s discretion.
The first delivery date for each subscription for the Buy a Box program is expected to start on or around the 15th of July, 2011, and will end on or around the middle of October, possibly later all depending on weather cooperation. This is our best guess, and is subject to change at Mother Nature’s whims. You will receive a box of our finest assortment of produce grown on our farm once a week, however long the season will last. The cost of a weekly box during the course of the harvest is $350 ($175 for ½ box) for the season, no matter how many weeks harvest lasts. You may purchase more than one share, or gift or donate shares as appropriate. Weekly recipes, helpful suggestions, and updates are also available on the Northern Garden of Life’s facebook page!
