2010 In Review

2010 was a fantastic year in spite of the rains.  Over 20,000 lbs of fresh produce from this farm went to area food banks, thanks to the help of the faithful staff and volunteers who made this happen.  The potato, tomato, and pepper harvests were absolutely outstanding, with yields that just wouldn't quit.  Thank you to all of our supporters and those who participated in the Buy-A-Box program!  It really was an outstanding season.

Onion Harvest

Shown is part of the onion harvest...we lay them out to cure for several days, which if done right gives them much better storage potential.

We picked this HOG out of the pepper patch, weighed it in at just shy of 1.5 lbs.  It has been a great pepper year, but this bordered on ridiculous.

Pictured below, Jack prepares the boxes for the day.  To the right is a close up shot...great looking stuff.  It really is tough to beat locally grown produce...we're just minutes from market, so when you get your vegetables, they are within hours of being harvested.
